Imagine receiving a Christmas gift from someone you haven't seen in years. Now, picture that the gift is the person.
The hustle and bustle of daily life often distances us from our loved ones. So, how can people who love each other and are far apart alleviate their longing? Christmas is when nostalgia truly hits, making us yearn to be close to those who are far away. We decided to bridge this gap during this special time of year. LAN and TAM passengers had the chance to send a greeting to their loved ones and make someone happy this Christmas. The messages were placed in small suitcases and sent as gifts to various parts of the world, one by one until they reached their destinations. The difference was that inside the suitcases, there were more than just messages; there were people.
More than 3 million people watched the action film in Latin America through the brands' social media profiles. Two hundred suitcases were sent worldwide, and 400 families had the chance to spend Christmas together, even from a distance.
This heartwarming initiative was part of the "Conectando a Felicidade" ("Connecting Happiness") campaign, a collaboration between LAN, TAM, and Coca-Cola, aiming to bring people closer during the festive season. Passengers recorded video messages at kiosks set up in São Paulo's Guarulhos Airport and Santiago's Arturo Merino Benítez Airport. These messages were then delivered in specially designed suitcases equipped with small LCD screens, creating memorable surprises for recipients around the globe.
The campaign showcased the airlines' commitment to connecting people and highlighted the joy of reuniting loved ones, reinforcing the true spirit of Christmas.
